Idol hands tattoo shop policy
You're hiring an artist to put permanent artwork on your body. That means we both need to show up prepared, communicate clearly, and respect each other's time. Everything below exists to make sure that happens.
Bookings and consultations
All custom tattoo work requires a consultation before booking. Consultations are free and can be done in person, by phone, or by message. The purpose of a consultation is to discuss your idea, confirm placement and sizing, match you with the right artist, and provide a quote.
An appointment is not confirmed until a deposit has been received.
Deposits
A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your appointment. The deposit amount will be communicated at the time of booking and is applied toward the total cost of your tattoo.
Your deposit is forfeited if you:

Fail to show up for your appointment without notice.

Cancel with less than 48 hours' notice.

Arrive in a condition that prevents us from tattooing you (see below).
If we need to reschedule your appointment for any reason on our end, your deposit will be honoured in full or refunded at your choice.
Cancellations and rescheduling
We get it -- life happens. If you need to cancel or reschedule, give us at least 48 hours' notice and your deposit will be transferred to your new appointment.
Repeated no-shows or last-minute cancellations may result in a higher deposit being required for future bookings, or the studio declining to book you.
Pricing
Tattoo pricing is based on size, placement, complexity, detail, and time. You will receive a quote during or after your consultation. For larger or multi-session pieces, pricing will be discussed upfront and may be quoted as a flat rate or hourly rate depending on the project.
Final pricing may be adjusted if the scope of the tattoo changes significantly from the original consultation. We will always communicate any changes before proceeding.
Day of your appointment
Show up on time. If you're more than 15 minutes late without contacting us, your appointment may be forfeited and your deposit lost.
You must bring valid government-issued photo ID. You must be 18 years of age or older to be tattooed at Idol Hands. No exceptions.
Before your tattoo begins, you will be asked to sign a consent and waiver form. This is not optional. If you decline to sign, we cannot tattoo you.
We reserve the right to refuse service
We will not tattoo you if:

You are under 18 years of age.

You are visibly intoxicated or under the influence of drugs.

You are unable to provide informed consent for any reason.

You have a skin condition, sunburn, or open wound in the area to be tattooed.

You are unable to sit still or follow basic safety instructions.

Your behaviour is abusive, threatening, or disrespectful toward any staff member or client in the studio.
If we refuse service for any of the above reasons, your deposit is forfeited. This is at our sole discretion and is not negotiable.
Health and safety disclosure
You are responsible for disclosing any health conditions, medications, allergies, or circumstances that may affect your ability to be safely tattooed. This includes but is not limited to blood-thinning medications, skin conditions, autoimmune disorders, pregnancy, and communicable diseases.
Failure to disclose relevant health information releases us from liability for any complications that result.
Consent and permanence
Tattooing is a permanent body modification. By signing our consent form and proceeding with your appointment, you acknowledge that:

You have reviewed and approved the design, placement, and sizing of your tattoo.

You understand that tattooing involves inherent risks including but not limited to pain, swelling, infection, scarring, and allergic reaction.

You accept responsibility for following aftercare instructions provided by your artist.

Results may vary based on skin type, placement, aftercare, and individual healing.
Once a tattoo has been started, we do not offer refunds for change of mind.
Aftercare
Your artist will provide you with aftercare instructions after your session. Following these instructions is your responsibility. Proper aftercare is essential to how your tattoo heals and how it looks long-term.
We are not liable for complications, infections, or poor healing outcomes that result from failure to follow aftercare instructions, pre-existing health conditions, or interference with the healing process (including but not limited to sun exposure, submersion in water, picking, scratching, or applying products not recommended by your artist).
Touch-ups
If your tattoo requires a touch-up due to normal healing variation, contact us within 90 days of your appointment. Touch-ups within this window are provided at no additional charge at the discretion of your artist. Touch-ups required due to client negligence, failure to follow aftercare instructions, or sun damage are not covered.
All custom designs created by Idol Hands artists are the intellectual property of the artist and/or the studio. You are granted a personal, non-transferable licence to wear the tattoo on your body. You may photograph and share images of your tattoo for personal, non-commercial use.
You may not reproduce, sell, distribute, or commercially use any design created by our artists without written permission.
We retain the right to photograph and display completed work in our portfolio, website, and social media with your consent as outlined in our Privacy Policy.
Liability
By proceeding with a tattoo at Idol Hands, you acknowledge that you are voluntarily undergoing a cosmetic procedure that carries inherent risks. You agree to release and hold harmless Idol Hands Tattoo, its owners, artists, and staff from any and all claims, damages, or liability arising from your tattoo, to the fullest extent permitted by Ontario law.
This does not limit your rights under applicable consumer protection legislation or your ability to seek recourse for gross negligence.
Studio conduct
Idol Hands is a professional working environment. We expect the same respect from our clients that we give.
Harassment, discrimination, aggression, or abusive behaviour of any kind toward staff or other clients will result in immediate removal from the studio and a permanent ban. No warnings. No exceptions.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The most current version will always be available on our website. By booking an appointment after any update, you agree to the revised terms.
